I am loving this book - such a fantastic main character. Richly developed and SO real to me. At times his perspective is uncomfortable, but I can link things either to my (white, straight) father or to the older Haitian males (mixed skin colors, generally present as black; sexuality unknown) I worked with in Canada and France not too long ago.
