Hmm...I'm not sure how I feel about this yet.
It started off kind of corny. I wasn't expecting the hyper focus on sex. And I'm not impressed by this little snippet -> "I know I'm being a total girl about this, but I don't really want to have sex with someone I don't love." Surprisingly sexist, which I was not expecting of this character or book...

Interesting concept, but I'm actually not getting into it the way I thought I would. :/

*I could only get the Chapter volumes on Kobo, so I'll be reading 1-3 before deciding where to read more of the series.*

Boo! I had such high hopes for this, but after 8% - where I should at least be interested in the story if not invested - we've only had ONE chapter??!! And, let me be honest, it wasn't the best chapter to hook me on the book.

This is definitely 'it's not you, it's me' problem, but this might not be the book for me...which makes me sad.

I feel like the last 30% is the only plot exploration and character growth in the entire book, but it's also where I feel less engaged with the story and the characters. They've both done a sudden 180 flip that doesn't really make much sense. I also feel like there's been an attempt to include as many kinks as possible into one book and Barnaby going from virgin to kinky deer was too easy...

Right...so, there is a reason that authors have beta readers, alpha readers and editors, and this book is the reason.
There is some GREAT potential in the story. But the constant referral of characters as "the blond", "the raven" is wearing on me. People are more than just their appearances, and since they have names...why not use them? It is an interesting story, but so far lacking depth.

End of Book 1. Despite some issues - needless repetition, an unworthy MC, and interesting but not great creative choices - I will keep reading. I loved Sean and his POV is Book 2, so I'm going to give him a chance and hope that the second pairing in Book 3 is better, too.

I'm *finally* starting Book 2 of this! That editing took way longer than I thought, but I'm glad to get back into this one, because I've been curious what might come next.

Huh. Interesting start. Bitty is fun, quirky and a vlogger. However, I did NOT expect to read "pussy" - the sexual, not the 'wimp' form - in a book billed for teens! I've been falling into that trap lately of being told a book is young YA - like with Love is an Illusion - which the covers and artwork appear to support, only to discover otherwise. I should really do more research instead of trusting these recs.

Interesting. But because of the relationship between God's, there's definitely incest and some skewed morals.

This has such a super interesting introduction. I'm really hopeful the rest of it proves as intriguing and captivating.

I'm taking a break before I delve into Book 2, to get some important edits done, which will probably take a week or two, then I'll be diving straight back in!
