I’m enjoying this book overall, but I am really getting sick of this kind of overly dramatic discussion of abortion in books. Like the woman who is getting one can’t even get herself to say the word? I think if it’s always portrayed as the biggest tragedy in the world, the most unspeakable thing, it just contributes to the stigma and movement against its availability.

I love Tan, but he’s the only person who curses more in writing than when speaking 😅 and the sheer volume of rhetorical questions, wow
