Steve is starting Master of the Senate (The Years of Lyndon Johnson, #3)
This is an immense book, 1100 pages. I’m listening to the audiobook which is over 50 hours long. I think this may take awhile! But I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, so here goes.

Finished Book Two (using Wikipedia organization) or Book Nine (how my “Maude”edition is organized) - either way about half-way through the whole thing. Enjoying it. Wish I could keep better track of names and family relationships, but things still flow anyway.

Hmmm, just realized my edition (Maude translation) has 15 “books” but Wikipedia says there are only 4 books, so maybe I’m still in the middle of Book 1 for other editions… oh well, 9% anyway.

Finished “Book 1” (out of 15 “Books” and 2 “Epilogues”). First half of Book 1 was terribly confusing — so many characters in so many locations! I almost gave up. The second half started making more sense, fewer characters at a time, and I started feeling like I understood some of what was going on. Now I feel like reading on, with my mix of Kindle reading and audiobook listening. On to Book 2!

Steve is starting How Rights Went Wrong: Why Our Obsession with Rights Is Tearing America Apart – A Renowned Legal Scholar's Paradigm-Shifting Analysis of Race, Law, and Justice
Just starting, and it looks intriguing but it’s clear that although “rights” is the subject matter of the book, he’s not saying what his definition is of the term. Arggghhh. People use the term ‘rights’ in many different ways, see the long and complex entries in Wikipedia and in the SEP. Yet he seems to refer to a huge variety of rights interchangeably. That’s his right I guess (haha) but …

Steve is starting Against Race: Imagining Political Culture beyond the Color Line
Only got 40 or so pages in. Interesting stuff, maybe, but far too academic and long-winded for me.

Steve is starting Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity
I first read this book maybe 14 years ago, it was very helpful although I was never a fully dedicated practitioner of his system. I’m now rereading it, although it’s now in a largely-updated third edition.

It is indeed very short but I still only got halfway through after several weeks. Liked parts a little but overall I wasn't getting what he was driving at.
