Slow going but I'm still held by it. The Spanish is sort of wordy and nautical but not archaic like his Capitán Alatriste novels.

Enjoying it (slowly) but my library loan has ended.

This is a great book - can't wait to drive somewhere to hear the rest.

Wow, what a book. Have had to take a couple of breaks to read something else for my brain's sake. Feel like I should get a degree when I finish, but it's so interesting and so honest about how complex the subject is from all his different viewpoints.

two thirds of the way in and it's the best non fiction I've read in a long time. The guy is just wise and funny, and while he leaves you pining for absolute answers, that's kind of the point - none of this stuff is very black and white and we need to be less dogmatic and more open to big picture thinking.

He's about to kill someone under pressure from the Spanish Inquisition - so I guess I'm hooked even though it's slow going.
