I love a challenging book, so in that way this beast doesn’t disappoint. But the sentences - so long! The pages - so meandering! The endlessness of the minutiae - so daunting! Will I make it to page 708?! I haven’t decided if I want to…

Kiessa is starting All the Light We Cannot See
I’m enjoying the style of writing and the story so far, but the 2-page chapters, shifting between characters and changing time is hugely distracting!!!

If the moon and the stars align just right and I end up with a chunk of uninterrupted time to read this book, I can get into the meandering and deeply thoughtful reflections. Otherwise, it is difficult to achieve the concentration necessary for this reading. The author can best be described as an avid fan of using 500 words what could be said in 2. I have never seen sentences go on and on quite like these.......

This classic was one I couldn't wait to start. I'm in no hurry to get back to it. Reading funk...

Kiessa is reading The Intuitive Way: A Guide to Living from Inner Wisdom
Seems like a book about intuition would be automatically awesome. Not this one.

This is painfully boring so far. I may have to put this one aside for another time...

Kiessa is on page 50 of 240 of The Woman Who Walked Into Doors (Paula Spencer, #1)
So far this book is the equivalent of a long evening in a dirty, rundown bar. I am not sure I will be up for the remaining 190 pages. Someone should keep a word count on "fuck." But it won't be me - nothing could make me start this over again....

Kiessa is reading A Reliable Wife
I am half finished with this book and am dying to talk to someone who has read it. It is depraved and sickening, but i somehow cannot put it down. And even though I probably wouuld not quite recommend it to someone, I am inexplicably enjoying it immensely. Pure. Literary. Confusion...

ARGH. This is not the joyous and culturally rich experienced I had hoped for. I miss being in Costa Rica, and this book is not remotely similar.

Kiessa is finished with Bossypants
Bossypants is light on content, heavy on funny. And, by the way, I'd like to see an IQ test on Tina Fey. She's got to be MENSA material.

Kiessa is reading Who Moved My Cheese?
This book could have easily been summed down into 3 or 4 pages, and while the concept does form a framework for thinking about change, I can't say that I found the ideas all that deep. My favorite quote: "Smell the cheese regularly to see if it is changing..."

Kiessa is reading The Wife's Tale
I loved Lori Lansens' other two books, but this one seemed lacking somehow compared to them. The story itself is one I should have liked, but as far as this type of story goes, I much preferred "Pull of the Moon" by Elizabeth Berg.
