So far.... is this really a BOOK? It was only released in audiobook format, and verges on the edge of podcast due to the many interview clips and quotes from others. Format aside (which I dont mind but is it a book?), this book will probably be offputting to the people who could really benefit from the advice. I think Id prefer to read something written by anyone other than comedians lol.

I AM LOVING THIS!!!!! Not only is Ray Porter the GOAT of narrators and therefore brings this fun story to life through his vocal talents, but the story is really fun and feels like a realistic way of how things could play out in this absurd premise; I love writers like Andy Weird and Dennis Taylor who take you through the logistics and logical thought processes of things so its not just crisis after crisis.

I read this years ago and LOVED it. ANd since Im still trying to fill the Project Hail Mary hole in my heart, I've decided to revisit this in audiobook form and WOW I am loving it!!! I struggle listening to fiction so when an audiobook can suck me, I notice. This one has been so fun to return to. It's just one big math problem yet relentlessly thrilling and exciting. Gotta rewatch the movie soon! =

Every teen should be forced to read this book. Some hard truths I wish I'd been sat down and told 20-25 years ago. I like that this is an impoetant finance lesson but also a very interesting memoir. Exactly what I'm in the mood to read!

Ive been looking forward to reading this book but the reviews made me nervous.... but just a few pages in and I felt like someone wrote this about me or for me! I do find the writing style a little disjointed and the use of quotations is already noticeable, so im curious how that will play out. But so far, Im not mad at it. (Plus the SITR reference! 😍)

Enjoying the premise and general approach, but it didnt grab me as much as I expected given the premise is right up my alley. Hoping it's just my lacking attention span this time of year and not the book itself. Will report back.

This was always one of my fave books, I'd read it many times, but it's been over a decade or more since my last reread. So I decided to do the audio book, narrated by FIsher Stevens. While I find the engineering of the audiobook to be inconsistent (levels are too dynamic for an audiobook. I need the yelling and whispering to be the same level so I dont have to adjust the volume), its been a JOY to revisit this tale.

This audiobook is SO GOOD. It's an oral history and feels like a real oral history, not a fictional one. GREAT voice acting.

The more I learn about how our brains work and what it takes to succeed as an adult in modern society, the more I realize how myopic my views on 'schooling" and "learning" were. While I deeply value the education I received, I no longer believe that it was/is necessary. This book has opened me up to even MORE ideas that I'd never considered and I want to learn MORE!!!!

I dont know how a book with this much MATH and such high stakes is as FUN and FUNNY and THRILLING but holy moly I'm loving this book. The audio book is one of the best I've ever listened to, but to explain why would be spoilery. Go in blind!!

Omg loving this twisty mystery!! Loved the plot twist that I had only partially figured out, but totally missed a few clues. Ahhhh. Can't say more without spoilers but this is exactly the mystery I've been waiting for. I want to keep reading to find out what happens next but should prob go to bed.

omg this is SO good already. It kept me up WAY TOO LATE reading last night!!! I wish I could skip work and just finish reading this. I am SO intrigued by this genre-mashup premise -- a haunted house with a showtune singing ghost? a corporate villain? an unsolved murder? sassy, pop culture references and a diverse cast of lovable characters? SIGN ME UP!!!!

Welp, since I was listening to a library copy of this and my borrowed time expired, I now have to wait another month to get it back haha. But the part I'd heard so far was SO GOOD. I will read anything by Emily Nagoski. She writes with compassion and good humor, breaking down the science into easy-to-digest tidbits that help us better understand our own brains and bodies.

FIrst of all - not a history of travel. YES she does cover the history of travel but this is more memoir than history book. Written by an Indian woman, it raises big questions about the privilege of travel, the many forms travel can take, and what it means to be a traveler vs tourist. This book's def making this travel lover consider some things that I never have before.
