Third, shouldn't I be more interested in the actual main characters than this?

I am very strongly reminded of Legally Blonde. Sadly, I'm not as charmed by this.

Maybe it's a problem with the NetGalley reader, but the text is just too small to read comfortably and because of the way the pages are formatted as images (apparently?) I cannot enlarge it to a readable size. Sigh.

Way to fumble the ball! It should have been "Marry me, Doctor Dimitriou." Not "Bianca Dimitriou." The whole point of this book is the importance of academic achievements compared to social milestones.

Calling cats evil creatures for hunting mice and encouragin the mice to stab them with needles and nails. Clearly being a beast singer doesn't mean actually caring about animals. Disgusting.

Bella's songs are execrable, though only slightly worse than the rest of the prose. Up to 1.8x, I guess.

I am very close to DNFing this mess of a book.

This is, disappointingly a LitRPG version of Cinderella, where the author took a lot of inspiration from Ever After (or else the audiobook narrator did, because she is definitely doing an Anjelica Huston impression as she reads the step-mother's lines). Unfortunately, Krout's writing isn't up to it the task. She's far too fond of adverbs and her sentence structure is awkward, to put it kindly. Sigh. LitRPGs :(
