I think this is the first book I ever read where I'm thinking it would be a HUGE improvement if at the end the main character just woke up and realized it was all just a dream. Like, that would instantly boost it from 1 to 5 stars I'd say.

I am honestly so pissed off by this book. I identify as a pessimist, but this is straight up mindnumbingly depressing, STFU and cheer up.

BUT THIS TIME I'm straight up cheating by listening to the dramatized audiobook version of it. 😂

OH MY GOD what is this Audiobook?! This is amazing! I thought this would be a normal Audiobook, but then it's a dramatized narration. I find it wildly entertainig, but this feels a little like cheating...hope I'm not missing out on aspects of the "actual" novel (It IS a lot shorter...)

So, I started "If it Bleeds", got a good chunk in, but realised at some point, that it's not going to work if you haven't read the Outsider (or that other trilogy). I just felt like I was missing out on a LOT because I didn't know the other books - so I decided to skip that story and continue with "Rat".
Maybe if I ever read the other ones I will come back, but honestly they are really not a priority right now...
