Am only halfway through Turia's story and my daughter has stealthily started reading it. We just had a 45 min conversation about love, courage, body image and the horrific realities of burn injuries. If there is a better role model out there than Turia then I don't know who it is. Thank you Turia and Michael

Brilliant!

This is a fascinating insight into Indigenous way of life pre and early colonisation. He uses written accounts of explorers and the early settlers to describe how the aboriginal people used and changed the environment to provide food, shelter, culture. A book that focuses not just on the past, but the future. Highly recommend. I would hope that this finds its way into our schools
