I went into it expecting it to be weird and perhaps a bit high brow... It IS weird, but it's actually super readable, with just the right amount of wit and humor (so far).

I read to page 100 of Oros side, then that seemed like a natural stopping point to catch up on Grims POV, so I read all of Grims POV thinking it would eventually get to the same moment in time where I left off in Oro's story. It did not, but I really enjoyed that back story anyway! I feel like I need to reread Lightlark now though because WTF?!

I love this series - the author's writing style, the character's banter, the NARRATOR (OMG the narrator is PERFECT for this series), the wit and humor...

Continuing to fall in love with Margaret Owen's descriptions of people - particularly Emeric - and other things.

Tandem read alongside Powerless.

Books like this remind me why I read fantasy - I have almost thrown this book twice already, but in a way they can't come back from (because no one comes back to life in Vietnam).
