Parker has taken first place in the competition of favorite heroine for me. Right next to her if albeit a little lower is Zoey who has always been top shelf. I just love the way Parker thinks and how funny and spunky she is in her head

Dare’s POVs (I so wish thee was more of them) make it so dubious as to whether or not he is on Aubrey’s side- it’s such a mindfuck. Sam Mariano you’re twisting my heart here!

Alright he fooled Aubrey AND Me- most of his shit with her was manipulative, but since he cares about her now he’s trying to protect her, and he discouraged Anae stooping so low. The Hannah thing straight up cut through the sliver of redeemability I thought he had- should’ve believed Sam’s forewarning from the start. I feel for Hannah so hard. This book fucking hurts in such a good way

Out of all the Sam Mariano books I’ve read (which is nearly all of them except the Coastal Elites series) this is probably my second favorite next to Untouchables. So far Dare is actually really charming and you almost forget that he’s plotting against her. I truly can’t tell how much of what he says is bullshit because there does seem to be some level of vulnerability between them.

Sam, girlypop I love your writing but you’re killing me with these thick info-dumping dialogue paragraphs. I wish this information was given a bit more naturally, it’s been like 6 mobile pages of unbroken backstory that doesn’t feel like it needs to be this specific yet.

The plot is kind of getting in over its own head. Addie is miraculously the #1 target among all these trafficking rings. The vigilante sections with Zade feel almost like superhero fanfiction. I’m honestly struggling to get through it. The writing quality started off average, but especially from Zade’s perspective, it’s taking a major nosedive

Z is kind of a Mary sue ngl, the writing quality is ok but his vigilante alter ego feels undeserved. Man is constantly in fights and hunting criminals down but doesn’t get hurt once? Ever? And like, no military experience or martial arts has been mentioned, just that he’s a hacker. There’s no explanation given for how a computer geek is this good with a gun, he’s just a guy. It feels a bit corny
