I've got the fire 🔥. The book is so good, I'm half finished already and don't want to put it down, don't want to go to bed. This is the good stuff

I finished one story so far and it was fantastic. Now need to read more James T Farrell.

Two things strike me, the very unique and welcoming writing style with no artifice. And the second that anyone in Germany should think they can say they didn't know what was happening to the Jews is a lie.
My new year's resolution is to stop reading parts of books and start finishing some. So far that is going well.

Many thoughts going through my head. Such as why do people read? And specifically, why would people read this???

This book is crap but I'm doing a new thing where I read 30 pages a day until I'm done. I hope it's soon

This is not a book for someone who speaks not one word of Spanish. Single words in Spanish that you can understand through context can add flavour. This has sentences in Spanish with no translation, sometimes 10 sentences on one page. It's not helping

Haunting. Propulsive. Difficult. Wonderful. Smart.
I will be reading this author again.

The Irish Jonathan Franzen, minus the misogyny. I can't believe the pull this book has on me. I was expecting the literary greatness, I was not expecting to be wrecked emotionally.
I don't want to read it because then it will be over.

I some ways I wish there was a heaven and a hell, so when these super religious people went to heaven, St. Peter could say "Did you cast your 13 year-old son out of your life and force him to work as a homosexual prostitute because he listed to popular music?"
