Still a couple hundred pages to go. It’s so heavy it hurts my hands but there are three characters I need to keep following.

I’m glad I finally managed to charge my kindle and locate this book again. In the midst of world problems, fictional murder feels like a wonderful escape.

This feels like an important book to read slowly and recognize each woman by name and place in history. For so much of their life they were just ordinary, hard working, playful, family loving, individuals who were denied the basic worth of humanity by their money worshipping employers. It’s also just a good book. Well written and intriguing.

I haven’t been reading lately, and yet I’ve heard about these women several times in my life, so when the book popped up in a conversation I felt compelled to start is right away. I had to charge my kindle after dusting it off, but I’m already completely emotionally involved.

There is a lot of tension building to get here, but I’ve read it slowly enough that I had to go back and locate a character from earlier in the story to remind myself who he was when he showed up again. Not at all a fault in the book but a peril of slowly savoring a long novel

I’m not sure why this came up as finished. I haven’t but on page 332 now. I’ve been enjoying all of the Vincent Graves books. They are fun and high energy. But this is the first one that gave me that chilled sensation of a good Stephen King or Ghost Story by Peter Straub. Maybe it just hit my personal boogie man a bit close. But not liking reading it if I’m home alone.

This book is easy to read and the characters grabbed me. I liked it enough to look it up and find out the author has several more, nine
I think, based on the folk songs and the lives of those the sings were based upon

I knew I’d love book three from the Grave Report, and so far it feels like revisiting an old friend. Vincent is still Vincent, in spite of the new body, or perhaps because of it?

I'm really enjoying the story, except when I ended up crying over the death of . . . Well no spoiler alerts, but right in there where three different characters were all described as being "dead already." That could have been annoying except the story was too intense for the redundancy to do more than snag my attention for a second.

I'm not surprised that this book keeps me turning pages long after I promised myself that I would stop. I've loved two other books by this author and admire the energy that runs through the story.

I'm really intrigued by sone of the characters in here. My favorite one just gave me a big scare. I'm thinks there is much that our society really needs to pay attention to, in the pages of this book so far.

At first I felt like I had Alzheimer's because the chapters were short and kept moving in to new characters before developing the ones we were meeting, but now I'm starting to get a sense of who is who and remembering names. Going to keep going.

My son insisted he was a pirate for over a year so this book attracted my attention when I was asked to read it to a 4th grade class I was subbing in. Then at a writer's conference in Gold Beach, OR the author was teaching some of the workshops. I bought the book, had it autographed to my son's baby girl, now I'm reading it.

I expected to enjoy this book, and so far I am not disappointed with it. What would you sell yourself for, and what if you don't have the right to do that because someone else has your contract and is calling it due? I have been loving every fast paced moment

This book would fascinate me, naturally because it contains much well researched information about the area that has been my home since 1989. I love it for the story and the characters as well. Usually I read several books at a time, keeping one by my bed, one in my car, one in the living room. But this heavy volume will give me new arm strength because I keep carrying it with me wherever I go

I had read a couple other books by this author right before I started this. I just couldn't get into it at the time and I think that is because it wasn't part of the same series, and was both similar enough but not the same. I needed something different in between and when I picked it back up this weekend, I jumped back to the beginning, now about to start chapter 15 and I have been really enjoying it.
