States that Ohio family farms are dying yet my research shows it thriving with average acreage going from one to over 100 now. Interesting discussion of what is organic: govt does strictly regulate small organic farms selling their wares but not so much on larger scale. “Organic” items in stores? Buyer beware.

Still doom and gloom. Stephen hopp, husband,thinks all plants are gradually going extinct. At least they’re not anti meat. Lots of ‘might,’ ‘maybe,” “could.”

Chapter one almost made me quit as she spouted many so called facts with no footnotes only just some references in the back.

Very charming. Authors got it going on!

She always has a few zingers in her writing that make me chuckle. This one is “hostile adult.” Hysterical

Had to go back and read the last part of Book One to realize the inevitable. Great book

Such a great author. Read her other book a while ago.

Ahhh the great story teller. Started a little slow but in the groove now. Great,naturally, descriptions of place and people.

This guy is just brilliant. If you haven’t read him and you want a good laugh-do.

Really well done historical novel about whites, creoles, free blacks and blacks beginning before the civil war.

This book is fantastic and I’m not even a gamer!

Soul baring takes lots of courage. And for such a powerful woman to feel inadequate. Major mental health issues with her husband. This is 1957 and very hush hush. The shrink was an absolute quack and she gives you all the juicy details.

Eye opening on anti semitism and the innocence of wealthy young women in the 30s. Have to add unbelievably that the depression didn’t affect her and her family

Book is good. Author is a journalist so it reads well. Dark characters and descriptions on aging that go pretty far.

Boy if this could happen but then again it really isn’t a solution

What a book!

Beginning is confusing but then we settle into a really good tale. Quite a different approach to novel writing which is refreshing

Charismatic comes to mind.

Now he’s on a political rant condemning white people. Shows weak writing.
