It's been interesting even though it felt reductive while talking about addiction, but they just started talking about ADHD and it's so oversimplified and stereotyped that I need to put it aside. Also this book is quite fatphobic.

I didn't really like the first one but I've heard the second is a lot better so I thought I would give it a chance. Throughout the first quarter of it, I thought about abandoning it, couldn't get invested and also not liking some of the dynamic. But then that got better so I'm sticking with it.
I still can't stand the author using male and female as nouns.

This is too hard to keep up with on audio. Will have to try an ebook. It reads a lot like a textbook. Maybe it is one.

This is really good so far. And Adjoa Andoh narration is making it even better.

This does get dry at times but the audiobook is surprisingly interesting, really good narrator.

This has been delightful so far. Just as good and in some ways better than murderbot.

I don't know if I'm going to finish this. There's intriguing mythology but the writing is just not there and there is so much gore and violence that doesn't even serve the story.

Only an hour into this and it's gripping but also rattling. Should come with content warnings.

I haven't really read a lot of Stephen King. Has he always been this ableist? Holy horseradish.

I'm struggling. It's so disjointed and I'm more confused than I like to be. Came here to read some good reviews for motivation.

It was a lovely surprise to find Audra Mc Donald is narrating Ruth. I love all the medical details and her character so far. But then the narration started from the point big view of Turk, the white supremacist. 2 minutes in and I had to hear two different racial slurs. It's worse in audio, I think. Might have to switch to reading for those parts if I can get through them. Major content warnings here.

An entire book happening inside a teenager's head. An intellectual, brooding, overthinking and as aroused as a teenager in the summer with a mostly unattainable object of his desire walking around nearly naked, teenager. It is a testament to the author's talent that this book is as readable as it is, but for my taste it does get monotonous. I've taken a break and will take another before finishing.

This is an extremely well written book. It is also potentially triggering for some and hard to read. I am finding I need to take a break for a couple of days, but will go back to it because the the book is good enough it's worth the pain to get through it.
