I read this all the way back in high school, but I have felt drawn to re-read it after it's 100 year anniversary (April 2025).

I find this story to be full of intrigue for me as a reader. Mike's finally getting to breathe the fresh air some, at this point.

This reads like a horror story.

So far, a very enjoyable story with elements of fantasy that are familiar, but also new in concept
