A little uneven. Some stories better than others, and I prefer when a collection of short stories have a connection. I did not realize this was over 1,000 pages- a bargain at 99 cents, but I may have to take a break soon and come back for the rest another time.

I am reading this one slowly. The story is unimaginably horrific and heartbreaking but the writing is so beautiful that I savor the time I spend reading it.
