first zweig!

8 years ago, i watched the adaptation and thought it was the greatest movie ever. glad i finally decided to read this

trying to recover after a massive reading slump

Returning to this series after almost 3 years

this book gets sadder and sadder but the narrative is so compelling i can't look away

protagonists who take up English literature will always be endearing to me.

"I envisioned a different kind of love, one that was gentle and kind... A space to rest, reposeful and calm with someone lying right there beside me, equally serene. Someone who sees inside me in a way that makes me translucent; who lets me see inside them too, ... Someone who yields to me, surrenders into my hands, while also offering themselves as a cocoon in return."

loving this so far so i'm speeding through it
