Second book to give me an interesting perspective on the story about the Samaritan woman at the well's encounter with Jesus

So far good things to consider with our family being in major transition, but too much psychology and not enough Scripture. Some suggestions they make are in contradiction with what those who have been in these situations say are helpful, which gives me some doubts about some of the advice.

The list of what teens are like at the beginning is very off-putting but praying that the rest may give some helpful insight. The assumption of what teens will be is straight from a worldly narrative...

CH 2 His understanding of the Law is so off! This doesn't help...

The first chapter was boring. I'm only reading this because of a book club.

Someone reviewed her book with worldly standards, to which she calls out saying they failed to use Scripture for that wisdom (because there is none) and yet the previous chapter was filled with unScriptural "wisdom"! I'm dumbfounded. Why is she picking and choosing when we're to look to Scripture?

Her view on dating having no basis in Scripture and touting the world's way is disconcerting. Calling going on dates old fashioned and bribing her son to take a woman on a date in college brings her judgement into question. She really wants one foot in the world with her advice here. Instead of looking to Scripture she looks to the 1800s and how we're supposed to implement that today instead of Scripture...
