Starting to skip the smut. It’s too much and too cringey even for me. Why is it that every time those two have sex, something needs to break (furniture) or lightning has to flash somewhere to announce Violet’s orgasms?? Is the sex otherwise not valid and this is a way to let us all know it really happened?

It’s getting repetitive to constantly hear how handsome, devastatingly beautiful, hot or dashing Xaden is whenever Violet either sees him or thinks of him. I get it, he is insanely good-looking and you and you want to seep with him. Move on

Wow, this is gripping!

Home stretch. We have a second signet now, and it makes no sense. I have skipped most of the scenes between Xaden and Violet because I cannot stand those two. Break up already!! You two are not fit to be in this together

Hmpf… the cat-fights (god I hate that this is really a thing), Violet’s childish outbursts when she tries to wield her power and can’t do it perfectly, and actually has to face solid criticism for it (the horror 🙄) and then the scenes between Xaden and hers. These are so over the top…

Makes me roll my eyes so hard I am afraid they’ll get stuck in my head.

Yeah, it makes a character reeeeally nice and relatable if you let them throw around petty nonsense like “I have never failed anything in my life”, then let them throw a temper tantrum when they are (rightfully) told that the grasp they have of their abilities is subpar and in fact NOT THAT GREAT. Yeah, that makes me root for them instead of letting them be humbled, accept their limitations and LEARN/IMPROVE /s

We are in 2025 and we are still confusing desire with love… -.-‘ can Violet please learn to finally control her abilities, it’s the second year already and the fact that these only work in the most arbitrary way is just cringey at this point. Get that girl to check her impulsive behavior too while we’re at it please, it’s embarrassing

So, our dear, frail, short, constantly-in-pain, can-do-it-all heroine even admits herself that Xaden is RIGHT not to trust her because she confessed to him that she almost spilled the beans to her sister out of sheer “I don’t want to be alone in this and I want my sister to be in on it”-spur of the moment feeling, and STILL the whole sulking crap continues????

This endless nonsensical bickering is starting to really grind my nerves to dust. It’s really not that complicated

I am not okay with this plot twist

I find it realy hard to sympathize with the rebellion and by extension, Robin.
Also, how is it that white people seem to be made evil just because they are white? Isn’t it possible that each and everyone of them is just trying to make best of a situation they have been thrown into as well?
And isn’t it possible for a white person to actually like and respect a POC without assuming malicious intent?
