I'm giving up on this. I like my mysteries, I guess, as police procedurals or detective stories. This isn't that. That's ok. It's for someone else, but not for me. I see that the author has written some series, so I'll give those a try.

I'm reading the Ross & Haines limited edition of 1962.

And, at this point, I have set the book aside. It was a slow starter but, by this time, it became tedious and over-wrought. I no longer cared about the characters and I have other things to read.
