‘Loosely translated, I believe that means, “Go Ramblers!”’

Drew is on page 55 of 601 of Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy
‘He wrote of the “forty young girls who wanted to become nuns entered in a solemn procession wearing nun’s habits with blue or green sashes…. With unbelievable simplicity, grace, and great seriousness they sang Evensong while a priest officiated at the altar…. The ritual was truly no longer merely ritual. Instead, it was worship in the true sense.”’

One of those books where it’s horrible, but also a story so fascinating that I think I could read an even longer book about it.

I started this book years ago, but was intimidated by the length, and struggled to keep up with it. Now I do a chapter a day during my focused reading time, and I’m enjoying it! Especially the part that takes place in the Eolian. 😊

So far, lots of valuable insight. Definitely written like a book that is based off of research, but some valuable lessons too.

Just had a good laugh.

'Do you have cornflakes in America?'

'Well, actually, they're American too.'

....'Fancy! So what brings you to Britain then if you have cornflakes already?'

Drew is on page 192 of 254 of Slave Stealers: True Accounts of Slave Rescues-then and Now
"I have heard many students of history wonder out loud how it was that good people in America turned a blind eye to slavery for so long....The problem with this line of thinking, though sincere, is that it is generally incorrect. Why? Because, for the most part, if somebody was willing to be an abolitionist in Lincoln's day, they most likely would already be one now."
