Even the last chapter was a slog. Enough with the overly descriptive sentences. It’s hard to imagine when you have to process 4 words that describe the 1 thing! Shesh!

I’m sorry but this woman can’t describe anything properly. Every sentence I have to pause to understand what image she is creating… “dirty clouds like chalky eraser marks”… I’m sorry but what?! Eraser marks are in themselves can’t be chalky… This is horrible to get through, I find myself just reading to be done.

The writing by is horrible. I just don’t understand why she uses the words she does. It’s so choppy, very hard to easily read and seriously, what kind of vocab does she have? I don’t get why her little baby at 1 month inside her is an apostrophe… like wtaf… I also don’t want to hear about 1 more umbilical story. Ever!

Not a fan of the beginning. I almost didn’t get the book because I wasn’t in the mood to read about birthing, yuck! I zone out with her writing, it doesn’t flow well. I’m also wondering what tense I’m living in… past, present…? More bothered than I should be for a nature book.
