It's a treat to hear a story in the author's voice. I don't like the horror parts but I'm loving the British bits and pieces that make that world.

A toothsome story that wants to be read aloud.

I thought I was finished reading WWII books, but the forgery and sabotage took me in. And I never expected this kind of story to be told so lyrically, especially a translated one.

It's not often that I literally smile while I read but that's happening now. I'm in the hands of a masterful writer.

This is an old fashioned book with old fashioned writing but I already am loving it. Catholics have done better than Mennos in articulating the costs and gifts of celibacy. They are naming what it takes to follow Christ as a whole, thriving person, single or married, in ways that are most refreshing and empowering.
