I have never annotated a book this heavily. My brain hurts.

Starting this one today. Pray for me friends.

Y'ALL. THIS IS INSANELY GOOD.

The pacing is definitely getting better now. The story is taking a different direction than I anticipated and there's not as much Dante on-page as I thought there would be. I'm still curious to see if certain things brought up in the first hundred pages will be addressed later in the book.

Buddy reading this with Em was such a good move because we literally have all the same issues with the way the story is being set up so far. I was expecting this to be a slower build like the first book was, but we're thrust into the story right where book one left off and the pacing to me along with the depth and scope of the conversations being presented in the first hundred pages feels off. More thoughts to come.

I'm not someone who is easily disturbed, but I'm finding this book very hard to read. I keep having to put it down and just stare at the wall for a while to ingest what I'm reading and the weight of it. It's excellently written and I think so important, but also not one to be delved into lightly. You really have to prepare yourself for each chapter.
