I’m really interested in Caspia’s journey as an individual, but I just don’t understand her relationship with Andreas… the whole instant-love thing doesn’t make sense and feels so unnecessary. Not every female character needs a love interest. Let HER have her moment to shine. I’m assuming this relationship will tie into the main plot, because if not, it just feels boring and pointless to me. Thanks, bye.

The book is really good, but for some reason it’s putting me in a reading slump!!! Ughh 😣, I don’t even know why.

The book is great so far, but I have to say… I’ve now read 2 books in a row with the name Silas used for royalty, and more than two books with Draven as the MMC’s name. Can we please get some new names in books? 😭😭😭😭

Update (Chapter 31):
WOW… the FMC lost me. Girl, he’s literally saving a kingdom and you’re mad he lied? Priorities, please 😭 I’m so tired of FMCs who act so entitled and sensitive over the MMC’s “lies” while they’ve been doing the same (and worse!) the entire time and somehow they’re instantly forgiven. 🙄

Rereading this book because I remember that I loved it but I don’t remember anything about it thankfully 😍
I need this reread now so that I don’t start a new reading slump…

I’m kind of annoyed.. I really wanted to like this book but I’m kind of struggling… I am not really interested in Ione or Elm so that’s basically 70% of the book so far. I would prefer to know more about the shepherd king and keep up with the Elspeth- Ravyn plot its more interesting. But this sudden change of focus to characters that were kinda irrelevant in book one is not really captivating to me so far.

Dnf… this was slow!!! What was written in 300 pages could’ve been written better in 150… I can’t wait any longer to feel any connection with the characters because I don’t. I get that this is world building but it’s slow paced… I couldn’t even care about the events to continue. Plus it feels too similar to a certain book…
