Do you ever get in a slump where you can't finish books and they all feel the same and you think it's you? But then you read a book and think, "nope, it's all those books I was reading because THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!" That is this book for me.

Finally making progress on this. It is a drag but at least we are to the quest now. If it weren't for wanting to be in the know and being able to talk about "that ending" I would just DNF.

I haven't picked up or thought about this book in over two weeks. I guess I may finish it but may give up after that.

You know when you are a third of the way through a contemporary romance and you are trying to decide if you should a) finish it by skimming it or b) just stop? Yeah, that's where I'm at with this.

If this book was just about Roosevelt in Yellowstone and Yosemite (where I’m currently at) I’d be done by now. I’m enjoying it but it is DENSE.

I am in awe. Each story is blowing me away and making me have to take a step back to process.

I am slowly but surely going to finish this book. I don't know why I cannot get into it as I did the first two...

I am in a book slump and have been taking FOREVER to finish books. So, for the rest of September, I'm focusing on palate cleansing.

This opening is one of the best I’ve ever read.

I've read a 1000 books. At least on Goodreads. And while I know it's been more than that and it doesn't include re-reads I had wanted to make a big deal of trying to choose a book WORTHY of being the thousandth book I read, at least according to Goodreads. But because of the medication I am now on I haven't been tracking as diligently as usual it has passed unremarked. Probably for the best...

If Tana French writes a book I'll read it no questions asked. This one has started off differently from her other stories (mostly from the third-person narrative) and I'm game.

Oh Jennifer Lynn Barnes, how I’ll eat up anything you write. Your stories may be unrealistic but damn if they aren’t unputdownable!

Since I am going through a book slump I've decided to do a chronological re-read of Poirot which I have never attempted before. I have started a little bit out of order but they were all re-reads.

I’m halfway through and contemplating giving up. The prose and imagery are wonderful but it’s such an effort to read... Also I’m not emotionally invested in any of the characters. But I do want to know what happens.

I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite audiobooks.

I've finally realized one of the reasons this book is taking me so long to read and I can now say it is a pet peeve: the POV is not labeled. Every section has one of the 5+ characters narrating and I have no idea which. It is obviously easier as I read to tell but then she adds NEW points of view! Why couldn't she just tell us who it is?!

Tried to read the first story by Tessa Dare but couldn't.

I chose this as a lighter Christmas read. The second story has started out well though.
