This book starts out bleak and heavy with grief. It's a good thing this narrator has a soothing voice to soften the blows.

Why does this "secret love" between cal and mare feel so forced? Like it was never developed past a few scenes.

I've been living in abstract realms in the in between spaces lately with my reading choices and I'm here for it.

I rarely re-read summaries or remind myself why I put a book on my TBR and then I read them as they become available from my library. Usually that works out, but this book starts off sad and sort of heavy, when I was already in a sad and sort of heavy mood. Maybe this will be right book, wrong time; or maybe it will be exactly what I needed.

OMG NOOOOO.... My loan returned early and I was left at the worst possible point, mid-revelation. Crying.
