I can tell the author is working hard to ramp up the intrigue, but I’m halfway through and getting a bit bored. Really hoping things start to come together soon

Dammit, first book of the year is a DNF. I really tried, hung in there for a third of the book and literally nothing happened!!! So disappointing, cos I really like this author :( I’ll come back to it and try again another time
