Still loving the portal-world travelers returning home premise, glad to see a glimpse of Confection. Not loving the victim mentality of the kids, but maybe I'm just jaded now after reading Down Among the Sticks and Bones. I don't read many fantasy novels where the characters refer to their social/cultural differences as much as in this series.

I ordered this book from the library intent on devouring it even though it's quite thick. Only a few pages in it's interesting and setting up a great foundation for the story. The characters and their motivations draw me in and make me want to know more.

I'm only a little ways in and already loving this book. When a patron from the library told me about it and I looked it up, I got excited to read it. I haven't felt that way about a book since I Hate Fairyland. Now I don't want to put it down!

I will finish this book, though I'm having a hard time with the style. I'm glad the author abandoned the 'storyteller' interludes. They really jarred me away from the story. I'm not very fond of Clare. Wishing she had more confidence and wasn't as ashamed and embarrassed about the things she's supposed to be good at. There is some beautiful imagery in the book

I'm a 4th of the way through and if the pace doesn't pick up or the narrator/MC become less boring, I'm probably going to give this book up. A shame, really. The premise is so interesting.

This book is traumatizing me... and I can't put it down.

Gave up on How to Be Single. Instead of 'how to be single' it should be called 'how to have casual sex with guys in any country'. After skipping way too many pages I finally just read the last page of the book and called it done.

the good: this flows very well and the MC's voice is poppy. the bad: the sprinklings of foul language and sexual content bother me.

Will tread carefully and see what happens.
