I will finish this book, though I'm having a hard time with the style. I'm glad the author abandoned the 'storyteller' interludes. They really jarred me away from the story. I'm not very fond of Clare. Wishing she had more confidence and wasn't as ashamed and embarrassed about the things she's supposed to be good at. There is some beautiful imagery in the book

I will finish this book, though there is a lot I don't like about it - specifically the style. I'm glad the author abandoned the 'storyteller' interludes. They really jarred me away from the story. I'm not very fond of Clare. She doesn't seem to be very good at anything, and she's ashamed, embarrassed, and apologetic about the things she's supposed to be good at - which is probably why she's not good at them.
