Autumn is Elizabeth Chandler season.

This is so funny and sweet but I wish it wasn't so repetitive. A lot of the dialogue is Owen discussing the same problems with different characters and I don't feel like he's growing at all.

Props though for not making this a dual POV romance because I hate those and I think it always adds to a romance when we only see one person's side and the other stays a bit of a mystery.

This is going downhill fast. The haunting is not exciting, the writing feels uninspired and I think the characters could have been interesting, especially Archer and Éabha, but there is some disconnect.

For now it's aggressively mid, let's see if the second half is better.

I've always wanted to read a Mason Deaver book and this one is set on a cruise ship so of course.

Why are all these modern gothic novels so literal?! Describe The Other to me, show me *why* the character feels that way, oh my god. You can't just basically say: "This is that popular Gothic trope, by the way" and expect me to feel anything but bored.

Is it bad that I'm enjoying this for being kind of horrible.

Me, a lover of slow paced stories: I wish this would actually speed up a bit

Once again, this would have worked better if the characters were a bit older but it's fun so far.

I almost missed the start of spooky season tomorrow, out of my way, I have so much creepy stuff to read. (Yes, I'm counting romance books when they feature ghosts and such.)

I'm here for everything about this but why did the author choose to write the 35-year-old MC as the worst manchild in history, oh my god. 30 pages in and I wish the pirates HAD thrown him overboard.

Also, the writing style reminds me of fanfiction (derogatory)

I'm re-reading all three of these instead of starting a new book and you can't stop me
