These guys are way too intense from the start. No emotional buildup, just personal questions, stalking, and unwanted touch. Their intentions may be good, but it feels like boundary-crossing. And the protagonist doesn’t push back at all, which is frustrating, especially since she just came out of an abusive relationship with similar red flags.

I'm so struggling to understand the hype about this, but especially about Roarke as a love interest. Dude clearly doesn't know what consent is. He physically attacks a woman because she wants to leave. That doesn't feel romantic, it feels rapey.

I had this on my kindle since 2017, time to finally read it! So far, I really enjoy the book within the book. Very Christie-esque.

So far not a big fan of this one... I am especially bored by the flashback chapters. Like, I really, really don't care for her college love story.

One of the love interests in the RH just had a jealousy fit and called the heroine his/their "property" and all the heroine said was "are you mad at me?" while cuddling with him lmao I could practically feel my own backbone disintegrate by reading that scene

I am not saying that I don't like the love interest but so far I don't like the love interest. The guy really annoys me with his constant "this is not the woman I know" blabla whenever the heroine is being vulnerable and talks about her feelings. He seems to only admire her when she's the super tough lawyer and is irritated with her for having emotional moments. There is better some learning curve ahead of that dude.

I swear the protagonist is too fucking incompetent to be team leader. Even with all the suspension of disbelief in the whole world.... nobody would put someone like her in a leading position. That's just not fucking possible.
