feels like I wrote this when I was like 14

I know this book is controversial but I've been itching to reread and I'm so obsessed with Hanya Yanagihara's writing style it's so thoughtful and beautiful and it's one of those books that somehow feels so magical and so realistic at the same time? I'm so in love

I'm sure it's intentional but Gandalf's selective use of magic pmo so bad

Have DNFed like one million books in the last couple months but loving this one. read when I was like eleven and did not appreciate it enough why is it so fantastic

peach scene was entirely too far but otherwise this book is beautiful

smut has begun but so far is very intimate and beautiful and not at all graphic. Elio is a freak and also delulu king.

keilee said she heard this book is actually porn but so far is just beautifully vivid just like the movie also I fuck w the writing style

I am still reading this just have no time and it is dragging it's heels
also these characters are just so ridiculous

I actually can't believe how little I knew ab the plot of this
also can't believe how little has happened we're still mostly introducing characters and settings and history and allat

I am live laugh loving this but emily henry loves to use confusing figurative speech that just dilutes what she's saying
she's like "I have this normal human feeling, just like THIS RANDOM THING THAT IS NOT A FEELING AND NO ONE HAS EVER FELT"

ahh I haven't read a romance book in so long I can't put this down
the banter is so good
also I love the way nora and libby are so very girlboss in their own ways

my mom says I'm not jaded enough to enjoy david sedaris so I'm going with it and dnfing this

guys I did it
I was so expecting to dnf this book again but omg it was so beautiful and so much less upsetting than expected

I'm sorry for updating every 5 seconds but I can't handle this
the happy years were not happy
okay yes they were but not anymore

I have never felt such connection to fictional characters oml hanya yanagihara just never misses

I was so ready to celebrate less than 100 pages left but apparently my copy has 816 pages 😭

the audiobook for this absolutely slays

I feel kinda the same way about david sedaris's humor in this as I do john mulaney's in baby j where they just kinda make light of serious things and that's their business I just don't find it funny idk
I don't do enough introspection to understand why but it just makes me uncomfortable

parts of this book are so disturbing but it's still so beautiful and I keep having to force myself to take breaks to do/read/watch happy things bc I don't want to put it down

the storytelling in this book is so elite the writing is possibly superior to any other I've read

this last chapter was very upsetting and that is all I can say

I am so thoroughly enjoying this book it is written in the most beautifully detailed way and the commentary on the characters and their relationships is just so perfect

this book makea me laugh

I know I got at least this far when I started this last year but I stg I like read it in dutch or smthn cuz I actually don't remember anything but their names

it may just be the audiobook but I am flying through this even though it's super detailed
also the way all the characters are introduced and developed is just perfection

this transitions so seamlessly between different parts of his life hanya yanagihara is insanely talented
but also 80 page chapters are not it

I am loving how character-driven this is
right now it's just a sweet story ab friendship and I wouldn't mind if it stayed that way
