On hold. I’m not enjoying the audiobook, so I’m planning to pick it up in reading form and try again.

Ok, so I’m reading the early books in this series because I enjoyed the later ones I had read, but I’m annoyed by the number of grammatical and wrong word choices in the books.

I’m ready to throw in the towel as chapter 34 begins with a reference to Roma, Missouri as “the methane capital of the world” and then goes on to talk about methamphetamine production.

This really is a deal-breaker for me.

Just finished the first book and I’m loving this author. The story was captivating, and I couldn’t wait to see what came next!

That said, the book could be improved through a good proofreading for a few grammatical errors, missing words, occasional word choice, and care with simple consistency in character names.

If the small things were fixed, I would rate book one as 4-1/2 stars!

I’m abandoning this book. A series with a premise that seemed like it had promise, even though book one was somewhat slow to develop much excitement, ended up being just more of the same draggy rhetoric and failed to engage me.
