More episodic than I expected. Minot leaves a lot of space for you to come to conclusions. Sometimes I feel like I've missed something, I also feel this way when reading Muriel Spark.

Caroline Gordon has excellent prose. Not too wordy, great clarity. ,So far I'm enjoying this more than her fiction.

If you can make it to page 257 it does get more interesting. I would have never ever made it this far if it were not an assigned reading.

Here for the prose not necessarily the food. The commentary is excellent. I laughed out loud several times already.
