The next pick for the boy’s book club, this was mine and Jacob’s pick, but I’m sort of regretting it: we are going at a pace of 5 chapters a week and now that I’ve got my teeth into it I could read it all by next week! I have no patience to savor a good book.

I’m enjoying it, because I’m a student of the time period, and Eco’s characters are wrestling with all the juicy, timeless questions of reason’s place in spirituality, but Eco also assumes his readers can read Latin, so I’m unfortunately missing 20% of the experience.
