I really like the world-building and the characters, but I wish there had been more action and less political intrigue. I also want to read more about female power and Slievi as a strong character, but so far my expectations are not met. The themes of patriarchy, guilt and sacrifice are interestingly portrayed but sometimes I felt like there could’ve been more. And definitely more deadly Slievi!!

I’m frustrated that Slievi is still being held captive by her brother, who seems determined to sell her or hand her over to their enemies. I really wish she was stronger and more capable of fighting back and taking revenge against the people who have made her life unbearable. I hope she eventually finds the strength to take control of her own fate and make them pay. “I know I would.”

After a violent episode in which she hurt someone from her village, Slievy is hidden away by her brother, Tyler (more likely tied up). As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that she may be the key to humanity’s future, as she appears immune to the disease affecting the region. Even more remarkable, she is the mother of two cubs with the rare ability to heal—but only a handful of people know this secret.

Loving it so far 😍😍😍

Slievi is introduced as being chained while facing accusations of having destroyed an entire village, leading her brother to punish her for this.

Incident :
pregnant woman got injured
So far there was not a single scene of how this incident might have happened
Everyone thinks it was Slievi but I am not so sure about it

As I got deeper into the story, I get to understand more about the characters and their desire .
Enjoying so far but without giving any spoilers, I would have wanted more fighting scenes.

Le frère de la créature la recherche afin d’échanger son pouvoir avec le sien, désireux d’être couronné chef.

So far I made acquaintance with probably all the main characters and although I am barely getting started, I must say I am pleasantly surprised about the plot.

You can see that there are some psychological elements involved in this story.

Looking forward to it!

Sloan is in love with Cherry, who once rescued her from an attack. After the incident, Sloan experiences memory gaps. To help her cope, Beth, a friend of Sloan’s mother, uses her expertise in hypnosis. Through these sessions, Sloan starts to suspect that Cherry’s mother might be linked to the attack, especially after recalling her dress.

The main character took part in a fighting scene between freshmen and at some point she saw something that no one would be able to see, apart from Selwyn Kane ( I am pretty sure this character would definitely play an impact role on this novel). It has to 😅
