OMG, getting to the end of PART 1!!!

This is a bleak story. Seriously, like what other horrible thing can possibly happen to these people?

“It was indeed, and the objects thus illuminated were…not insubstantial.”
Such jewels planted here and there in the story help relieve the roller coaster of angst.

Is it just me is is Elena really not likeable. Of all the females in the series (most of which were not likeable,) she is the worst!
Especially compared to The Russian being such a puppy...

Interesting beginning, but I got lost when the wager came up and Darcy contemplated Caroline. Then, he and Bingley discuss her ruin and totally ignored the fact that she is responsible for her own ruin. As an adult, she knew what she was doing not only for herself, but also to keep Elizabeth from Darcy.
She didn't deserve their care.

The race was funny tho.

Goodness, I forgot what a jerk Darcy was to poor Elizabeth. Now he is starting rarting to get his shine on and I recall Elizabeth deserves a lot better treatment than he gives her, or rather takes.

General Tilney is my favorite so far. What an unexpected beginning for such a harsh man that he became.

The chapters of Sir Walter Elliot and Frank Churchill were so poignant.
How sad to actually read of Lady Elizabeth's knowing the mistake she made.
And Jane Fairfax did NOT deserve such a inconstant Frank!

JJ have the gift of writing entertaining banter. Smile on my face the whole time...

Am having difficulty getting in to it. The back and forth of misunderstandings and unspoken thoughts for fear, feels so tedious to me.

Chapter 6 of the audiobook is a mess! They did no esiting dor all the technical fixes. Soooo bad...!

"The forfeit" What a delicious Darcy!

I know this story is about Mary and the selfishness of those all around her were necessary to move M in the direction the author was motivating her to go. However, the selfishness seemed SO extreme and soo unkind. Thank goodness for Mrs and Mr G!!! Finally real affection for our dear heroine.

Not loving Jane and her development. If her experiences in Scotland altered her so much, I feel we should at least be made aware of what they were. Her life choices were made based on her situation. She got bitter and jealous.
Still find Col Fitz to be ick, specially toward women. I would LOVE to see him eat humble pie, but I guess he doesn't...?

Halfway thru and while I am enjoying the writing (Dixon generally writes well) this story is disconcerting. Everything that D stands for is propriety and honor. No way would he be so base as to keep his own human sex toy.
I also miss knowing more about the remaining Bennet's. Bingley's choice of a wife has clearly kept him from reaching his full potential. D tires of him which is ironic considering D is the cause.

Oh dear, love the premise, am so disliking the horrible writing.

Loving this so far. IT is a little slow, with too much repetition, but besides that, quite well written and a nice change up for a non-canon story.

I have read a couple of books by this author before, I don't recall them being written as badly as this!
