dearly beloveds, I have returned - some four years and two degrees richer, and now endows with the glorious free time for reading a full time job (trapped on an island in Lake Superior, no less) offers. I missed have missed y’all marvelously & am so grateful that this site has not changed as much as it could!

FOLKS I THOUGHT IT WAS LIKE THREE YEARS. It’s been SIX. Six years since my last goodreads update and I STILL couldn’t finish a single one of those books? was the end of high school that busy? have I truly been so obliterated by life?

inordinately hung up on “that’s like saying…you have to know Latin to study the Bible” as if any of the Bible was written in Latin (I suppose that drives home the ridiculousness of the concept?)

the dreadful thing about coming back on to goodreads after several years away (undergrad yeehaw) is looking at your currently reading and realizing how many of those books you are still. currently reading.

my lingering irritation at this man from Ignorance is blooming into downright distatste

love that, while moving, I packed all the books I'd already read to force me to finally down my tbr. did I read my shelves and boxes of unread books? no. I have read nothing at all, instead.

So nice to read a non-textbook fro a class. I missed books.

Is this book important? yes. But do I wish my required reading was a little less heartbreaking, &, in many ways, revolting? yes.

I've read like twenty books since I last updated GoodReads & my challenge... but I just can't be bothered to add them.

okay I’m listening to a WONDERFUL audiobook, but Merry, a favorite character of mine, has an AMERICAN ACCENT & it’s SO WRONG, especially since Pippin’s a lovely Scot. Not ignorably American, either. He’s a horror of a country hick.

how have I been so slow to update my boos & half of the books I've read this year aren't even on goodreads, & yet I'm 8 books ahead of schedule? Yay, I guess?

This book is a good reminder that even though I think I love long chapters . . . I don't.

General Anti-Defamation PSA: My youngest siblings stole my kindle because I made the msitake of leaving it signed into the store & downloaded & read heaps of Garfield & trash kids books & I swear I DIDN'T READ THOSE. I'm in Australia for school & so I haven't updated my GR with the books I have read, but they're much better. Anyway! Off to sue my baby sister for slander!

Having a hard time processing that one. But apparently the last time I reviewed Narnia was in tWO ThOUSand SEvenTEEN. How have I not read them more recently than three years ago.

Completely ignoring all instructions in the Goodreads Choice Awards and voting for the prettiest cover in every category went pretty well, I'd say!

I love this class. Obviously.

Me any previous year: Well, I haven't read most of these, so I'll just vote in the category I do know - Non-Fiction - and do a bunch of write-ins.

Me this year: Oooh pretty cover! Vote for you ... vote for you .... heartstopping usage of graphic design. A vote for you... Wow all these covers are atrocious, guess this category's vote goes tooo ... wittiest synopsis!

I only wish I'd read this while logged into GR so I could continuously make snarky updates. But I FINALLY READ IT, FOLKS.
