Finding this hard going because I can't read it just before sleeping (when I normally read) because it leaves me thinking about work, which makes me too stressed to sleep. I also can't help feeling icky reading a book with the word "marketing" in the title.

Natasha Hurley-Walker is reading In Defense of Global Capitalism
Finding this hard going because I keep shouting at it for being patronisingly oversimplified on the one hand and wrong on the other. Not to mention cherry-picking its statistics and ignoring actual historical events. Sigh. Must get through it...

I temporarily had to put this down because I became so incredibly angry about how a book like this can exist for decades, and yet an entire generation of knowledge workers be forced to work in loud, open-plan areas with no space and no privacy, hurting their own creativity and the overall progress of their projects and therefore companies/universities. Kafka would love the Furniture Police. What more can I say?

Total insanity.
