I really want to give this a chance but I don’t k ow if I am going to be able to get past the fact that the narrator’s voice on this audiobook edition is less charming journalist and more AI FLIGHT ATTENDANT.

Loving this SO much. This is exactly the type of thing I want to listen to after a day of serious PA things. The voices in my audiobook version are amazing.

Although a bit overdone for my taste, the book jacket review blurb is quite accurate that it’s “An extraordinary examination of longing and the complicated ways in which we negotiate the experience of attraction…” I have also decided that this is totally relatable for all genders, although being a gay guy may help you understand the secrecy/fear of discovery element a little more.

I do wish we had the technology they use in the book to immerse you in a painting when you touch it

So excited to book club this with Robby(: Although it pains me that I am FAR from lounging under the warm sun by the water with a book, I will settle for the lovely writing and the freshness of reading about a crush developing on someone. I am surprised that I am liking it just as much as the movie, which I think is spectacular in its own different way.

Pleasantly surprised that there is yet another society of female baddies rising up in the duniverse

I find myself skimming through the lengthy descriptions of the world around them, random banter, and other seemingly unimportant filler content about the new cultures they’ve discovered or the world in general. Normally for a book similar to this one in theme, I’d love to read these details, but I think I’m impatient to finish

There could be MUCH less "whitty batter" between the crew members and much less of Sandoz complaining about being in pain and suffering in general. It's almost nauseating how much of the first half of the book is meaningless whitty, banter likely meant to be character building (which could have been done in far fewer words) and sandoz complaining or being unlikeable, INSTEAD OF GETTING TO THE POINT (aliens)

Love it, thankfully I’ve gotten through a little bit of a slow section and things are exciting again now

This is a very good book. Great on audio , but it would be great and print too. It’s giving me very much Narnia X Howl’s moving castle vibe

Just realized that the actor who plays Rob in the Normal People is the narrator of this audiobook and it makes it lovely. He sounds quite a lot like Paul Mescal to my untrained ears. The writing is lovely, I love the way the voice of the writing switched between the brothers, and WOW it is Horny with a capital H.

Pumping this book into my veins at this point because I can’t stop

Beautiful descriptions of everyday life sprinkled between MAX 800000 LEVEL ADRENALINE situations every other chapter. Mami and Luca are GOING THROUGH IT like can they catch a break?

I loooove some of the writing. I’m a sucker for creative similes/metaphors in writing, and this author is pushing all my right buttons. I think I might be slightly more into the book as a whole if I weren’t currently trying to tone down themes of technology/electronics in my life, but it’s no serious obstacle to how much I’m enjoying it. I have high hopes because I di love a love story between two freaks
