Hala is on page 174 of 370 of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
This book mentions countless instances of medical research conducted on humans without consent. As recently as 1995, John Hopkins knowingly exposed households with children to lead. Western medicine’s failure to recognize its patients as human simply due to race is astounding.

Black scientists used Henrietta’s cells to test the polio vaccine in Tuskegee, the very place black men were injectected with syphyllis well after it was known to be treated by penicillin.
How ironic and infuriating.

Shall I abandon a book I'm not enjoying or finish it anyway?

I originally had no interest in reading it. It seemed like JKR had trouble putting HP to bed the way she kept tweeting about HP, Pottermore, a Fantastic Beasts movie, etc. I hate unnecessary sequels & it felt more like a cash cow than commitment to storytelling. But seeing the hype of a HP book release took me back to my childhood & how it was such a big part of my love of reading. I hope it's good!
