I’m hooked

Building off of the horrors of the first book and expanding them to even more terrifying lengths. Katniss has grown so much, but is still not the assuming rebel most paint her as. Just a girl trying to survive! Also president snow’s development. Scary. He’s a bad bad bad man. The political violence and class oppression is written so distinctly, and it’s absolutely without a doubt my shit so far!

First time reading!!!! A pretty big deal since everyone who I love loves this book. I couldn’t put this down last night. I’ve always been impressed with how this series has appealed to so many people. 100 pages in, I completely understand why and am looking forward to coming home from work and reading more.

John Green’s nonfiction writing always reminds me how thankful I am to be here and to pay attention to the world around me. I’ve always been interested in epidemiology, access to resources, and government intervention, particularly with the AIDS crisis. I don’t know much about tuberculosis. Bringing his wit and sensitivity to this topic has taught me so much about this global injustice. Excited to learn more!

needed a light read. this author always makes annoying main characters
