If I wasn't enjoying the story around Doris & Audrey I'd stop reading this book bc the romance is Not It. It's lacking all of Alexis Hall's usual humor/charm for me, Jennifer is beyond horrible, and the last thing Audrey needs as she carries around the voice of her condescending ex is to end up with a witch like that. Girl, listen to your parents, find someone who isn't an absolute c word.

Insufferable. But I'm into the mystery part enough (it seems painfully obvious but maybe there's a twist??) that I'm gonna stick with it. On record though, MG is the worst.

Idk maybe this is a product of it's time, but holy hell this MC is insufferable. She wants to be the victim *so bad*. Girl's acting like she's been treated like a pariah for being nerdy like maybe I've been living in Seattle too long but ain't no way anyone cares that much that she reads comic books and dyes her hair pink.

I wish I was enjoying this more. I'm wondering if it's an audiobook issue? The flat affectation of the hero's voices by this narrator worked ~okay~ for me in the first book, but it's not working so well for me in this one.

I'm finishing this bc the audiobook is only like 4hrs long but oh my god this guy is such a jerk.

There are still 2hrs left in this audiobook and they are already together and adorable so I am.. terrified to find out what is about to go wrong.

She really is just.. so dumb.
