Trying to decide if we're in a fever dream right now

None of these characters are likable

Emmy is the worst.

I get that we're trying to build up anticipation a bit, but the first 4 chapters have just felt like total foreshadowing in a hit-me-over-the-head kinda way. Hoping it doesn't play out the way I'm expecting.

It should not have taken this long for me to feel invested in this book

This has been a super quick read so far, but has anything actually happened? I feel like I'm still waiting for something more

I don't mind books with multiple perspectives, but in all honesty, with the exception of Leo and Delilah, the voices are way too similar thus far

I sometimes wonder if reading a book because of the author (and skipping a synopsis) is a good idea. I've enjoyed the author's other books, so just hoping this one picks up a bit more for me. Feels like it will!

I need a character chart. There is no identifying information about anyone and they're all blending into one.

Should I have read The Perfect Marriage before starting this?

Still not interesting. So many words to say the most simple thing. Incredibly repetitive.

I hope this book gets interesting

Did the author somehow publish a whole series without editing a single sentence?!?

This half sister is not a surprise. She was mentioned in book one - randomly - and literally never mentioned again until now. I have been wondering about her and why she wasn’t at the hospital with the sick father since the middle of book 1.

I hate when books waste pages recounting the previous books stories. Also, the time jumps mid chapter are confusing.

It is extremely confusing when the point of view switches mid chapter without any sort of notice. Even a small line on the page would be better than nothing.

Still sitting here confused as to why nobody is asking Adria to do a blood test. It would show if they’re half siblings.

Ew. Why is this book so incestuous?

OK, excuse me while I vomit. It is one thing for a character to think his stepmother is pretty. It is a whole different thing for both of them to have some sort of relationship that is more than stepchild and stepmother. Too incestuous for me… hoping there isn’t more to it than this for obvious reasons.

I prefer much shorter chapters. 20+ minute chapters means I cannot read as easily on the subway, which is when most of my reading happens.

Otherwise, I am enjoying this book. I don’t like that sometimes the character perspective changes to a different character in the middle of the chapter. It’s a bit jarring.

What kind of school calls to say you need to pick up your daughter only for you to not actually have to pick up your daughter because she’s no longer alive?!

This first chapter feels like a gossip girl knock off. I hope it doesn’t continue this way.

Enjoying the book, but I really dislike when there are no chapter numbers. If every chapter is called ‘Before’, ‘After’, or ‘Now’, how is the reader to navigate to the correct chapter? Very frustrating.
