Trying to decide if we're in a fever dream right now

None of these characters are likable

I get that we're trying to build up anticipation a bit, but the first 4 chapters have just felt like total foreshadowing in a hit-me-over-the-head kinda way. Hoping it doesn't play out the way I'm expecting.
