Right so, the bronze dragon (and knowing where this book goes it probably actually is one) could have grabbed the assassin, who was standing both hands on a sword that he just drove into the ground, and torn the guy to shreds & THEN tell Thrall to go find Nozdormu.
But as everything in Warcraft's writing happens for the sake of plot the dragon grabs Thrall, letting the assailant live.

Okay, like I know how the story goes but reading it for fanfic sake I can't help but wonder: They already figured that the bad guys were after the eggs and they already have a good idea what for and yet THIS is their first conclusion?

Why are there still 16% left to this? Gods it feels like getting teeth pulled in slo-mo. Let me guess, the characters have to be incompetent so that it is ultimately glorious Akexstrasza and her colonialist... oh sorry titan order magic endeavours that win the day.

How can this book get more infuriating with each page? Not only are the characters dreadfully cardboardy, it feels as if they are purposefully latch onto the idiot ball. And sweet f*ckery, do I start to outright HATE Alexstrasza. There's booktok romantasy MCs that are not as much an insufferable god-mode-center-of-the-universe sue as she's made out to be here.

Know what would have been great here? If anywhere in the story before we would have been SHOWN how the Old Gods affect Neltharion. Instead of just constantly BEING TOLD and then shown very much the opposite unironically.

How exactly are Malygos and Neltharion friends in this? There's no chemistry no anything between them we would get to SEE. But hey, the text certainly TELLS us they are friends.

Trying to re-read and finish this and...

Neltharion is supposed to be SMART for crying out loud. Yet here we see him standing there not just making himself and obvious target but also the MacGuffin. No, Nel, I have no idea how the BBEG could EVER have known that the big glowy artifact that you are waving around might be important.

Also knowing where the story is going as a whole I am really really really not keen on the whole aspect (hah!) of 'oh actually Malygos and Neltharion were evil all along' Meh.

Bit on edge about the framing device of 'Oh yeah, this stuff totally happened to my great-grandmother, here are her adventures, also my gran who recently passed away was also super-special' that feels like... Why?
There's no reason for such framing device, it adds nothing (yet), and to me felt more like filler and... it doesn't feel right.

Ich hab ein ziemlich klares Bild von der Tat, glaubich. Bei etwa 75% ohne nervige Längen spricht das für gute Story Konstruktion:3

Ich hab nen konkreten Verdacht, mal seh'n wohin's führt. Bisher hat die Autorin es in ihren Romanen gut geschafft zu überraschen.

Natürlich hab ich's gekauft, was denkt ihr von mir?

The cases are good, but by now their prose is rather dreary and overwritten. Might be due to the age but I find myself skipping paragraphs more and more often... :(

I am quite certain the characters are screaming inwardly as much as I do. Dx This is meant as a compliment

Not loving this, but not hating it either. It's a product of its time in the sense that it is a lot of exposition and not much happening, really. There were some good bits here and there but overall I found these more haphazard and less polished than e.g Sherlock Holmes or later on Miss Marple.

So in the end it was aaaaaalll just a tragic accident... wow, not impressed.

Gods, it's even worse a solution. It all abuse apologies and a big Oh actually it is this character who did it.
I wouldn't mind the whole surprising reveal if this weren't so pretentiously constructed. As if the aithor desperately tried to stretch the text to over 200 pages. bad

Gonna take a wild guess who the accomplice is: if it isnt the butler, it's the new servant... because cliche...

Are we really making excuses for an abuser? Really? Are we really doing this? Are we really being all "oh the abusive behaviour that was absolutely in line with the abusive behaviour before was totally not abusive because the abuser only wanted to be loved and was tricked into acting like she did now, nevermind the abuse before"? Are we really doing this, book???
