Incredible depth and insight. Painful at times. I feel genuinely fortunate to be able to ready from authors like ZNH. As an author and studied anthropologist, she's gives us, through this book, incredible context that otherwise may have remained unknown for many readers. I am not finished reading, but I have already learned much from this work.

Powerful stuff here. Still waiting to really dig into this book...

A powerful, simple book with gems of wisdom sprinkled generously throughout.

I love Hesse. It doesn't seem to matter what story is being told; his stories are always infused with deep insight and ideas that are as important today as they likely were at the time they were written. 25 pages in, I'm getting the same intellectual sensations as when I read Steppenwolf. The story line and characters are there, but the ideas within the stories are really what draws me into the world inside the book.
